UltiMate 3000 UPLC liquid chromatography system with charged aerosol detector (CAD)

Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 UPLC liquid chromatography system equipped with charged aerosol detector. The detector converts analyte molecules into dry particles and the number of particles increases proportionally with the amount of analyte.

Contacts and Location

Description

A stream of charged gas collides with the particles transferring the charge to them. The particles are then detected by a highly-sensitive electrometer. This generates a signal proportional to the quantity of analyte present. Charged aerosol detectors measure a wide range of analytes in the areas of pharmaceuticals (large and small molecule), biomolecules, foods and beverages, specialty chemicals, and polymers. Charged aerosol detection can technique can measure any non-volatile and semi-volatile analytes at sub-nanogram levels, and does not require ionization or presence of a chromophore.
