  • Global Optimization Toolbox

    Global Optimization Toolbox provides methods that search for global solutions to problems that contain multiple maxima or minima. It includes global search, multistart, pattern search, genetic algorithm, and simulated annealing solvers. You can use these solvers to solve optimization problems where the objective or constraint function is continuous, discontinuous, stochastic, does not possess derivatives, or includes simulations or black-box functions with undefined values for some parameter settings.     HyperNiche is a software for nonparametric regression. The primary purpose is to provide a flexible tool for multiplicative habitat modeling – habitat models where the predictors are combined multiplicatively rather than additively. Nonparametric Multiplicative Regression (NPMR; McCune 2006) effectively represents species responses to multiple habitat factors. Factor interactions are accommodated automatically and the overall form of the response surface need not be specified in advance. With a built-in cross-validation procedure to reduce problems of overfitting, NPMR promises models that fit better and are more parsimonious than traditional methods.
