Venous thrombosis is a multicausal disease due to the interaction of genetic and environmental risk factors. Some of the recently discovered genetic risk factors, such as factor V Leiden and prothrombin G20210A mutations and C677T mutation in the gene MTHFR.

Specification

Sample DNA or material for DNA isolation. Factor V gene mutation R506Q, Prothrombin G20210 mutation, C677T and A1289G mutations in the gene MTHFR are detected using PCR-RFLP and PAGE.

DGKL approved EQA sertificate for analysis of mutations in FactorV, Prothrombin and MTHFR gene (www.dgkl-rfb.de).
