Description
ARSENAL is a state-of-the-art airborne remote sensing technology for studying natural resources and environment. ARSENAL provides the most advanced measurements of physiological, chemical and spatial parameters required to study ecosystems, biodiversity, biomass and its applications range from habitat analysis, geological exploration, forest management, water pollution detection to aerial archaeology, landscape management, animal ecology and many others.
Specification
ARSENAL integrates nine airborne sensors operable in the following spectral ranges: 280 - 375nm (ultraviolet, 1 spectral band), 380 – 1050nm (visible-to-near infrared, up to 288 programmable spectral bands); 950 - 2450nm (short-wave infrared, 100 spectral bands); 3700nm – 4800nm (midwave infrared, 1 band with interchangeable filters); 3000nm – 5000nm (midwave infrared, 64 spectral channels); 8000nm – 12 000nm (longwave infrared, 1 channel), LIDAR (1065nm), and high resolution RGB camera. ARSENAL is mounted on-board a Britten Norman twin turboprop BN 2T-4S Defender aircraft who has a maximum endurance of around 8 hours and is capable to operate from short, unprepared runways in all weather conditions during day and night.
